The now famous ‘memory foam’ or ‘lazy foam’ was invented in 1966 at a NASA research centre. At the time, its main function was to alleviate the negative effects of overloading the human body and to absorb energy during take-off and landing. The main characteristic of VISCOR foam is its low elasticity and temperature sensitivity.

Thanks to these properties, VISCOR foam adapts to the shape of the human body. VISCOR has been used in all sectors. It protects bedridden patients from bedsores. It is also widely used in the furniture industry, in the construction of amusement parks, prosthetic accessories, footwear, but also as a material in contemporary art.
